Conference Call //  U.S. Media & Internet: Assessing the Recession Risk

In a clients-only conference call tomorrow, March 13th at 10 am ET, Michael Nathanson will discuss our notes on the potential fallout from coronavirus and a recession (see U.S. Media & Internet: Assessing the Recession Risk, and U.S. Media: The NBA Calls Time Out) released earlier today.

At the start of 2019, after the market swoon in the fourth quarter of 2018, we asked the question – what would happen to the earnings of our companies during a U.S. recession? Obviously our concern last year was pre-mature, however the focus now about slowing economic growth in the wake of the growing COVID-19 epidemic is legitimately front and center.

On the call, we will discuss the impact of slowing advertising revenues and weaker park attendance on our media and internet companies. We also will assess the historical precedents of multiple contraction to see if these stocks have been oversold past prior troughs.
